We were looking for a weekend of luxury at the Bolton Whites while visiting family close by, we usually have to sleep on a sofa bed at relatives homes but we treated ourselves to a few nights at Bolton Whites.
Friendly and welcoming reception staff dealt with us efficiently. All the public areas were very clean. The location is great, close to the motorway and lots of places to eat, drink and shop on the Middlebrook Complex.
Our room was clean and well laid out. The bathroom was great and having a bath as well as a shower was welcome. However, come bed time, we found the bed very strange, everytime one of us turned over it almost bounced the other out of bed! The room was also noisy both from the neighbours at either side and above and by banging doors on the corridor. The room was very hot, couldn't sleep with the window open due to the road noise and no Air con :(
The health club was a disappointment, the changing rooms were tired, the lockers looked like they were rotting and falling apart and the fixtures could all have done with a facelift. There were tiles missing in the pool, jacuzzi and steam room.
Breakfast was a redeeming feature of our stay, plenty of choice of food and drinks seemingly very fresh and tasty. We really appreciated the longer weekend hours giving us plenty of time to get to breakfast. The Brasserie seats could have done with a bit of a facelift and some of the staff could have perhaps forced a smile!
Overall we were expecting more of the Bolton Whites, we would consider staying again. I hope the new(ish) owners think about a revamp in the leisure club and well used public areas.

we stayed here on our wedding night it was great. We had a corner room with a panoramic view of the pitch. For my partner a bolton wanderers fan it was great and i enjoyed it too.
They left rose petals on the bed and a box of chocolates with a card which was a lovely touch. My partner dropped our bags off in the morning and they were taking to our room once it was ready so we had everything we needed when we arrived in the early hours. We were greeted by very friendly and helpful staff. Look forward to staying again.

Terrible sleep due very noisy duel carridgeway whI have also stopped us from opening windows to let cooler air in. Could not pay for room using cash without paying a further £50 deposit, I found that an inconvenience. Internal walls very thin, could hear EVERYTHING from the room next door.

Always the first choice hotel for value and location in this area. Clean, comfortable rooms with decent WiFi speeds.
Great location, close to the motorway network but set back enough not to be disturbed significantly by traffic noise.

I stayed at Whites with a large group during the UK School Games, which were held in Bolton Arena across the road.
The twin room I shared was very comfortable, with little traffic noise.
The bar and restaurant were both easy to get to and had a good selection. I must give special praise to the breakfast, with a good hot and cold selection. The porridge helped start what became long days at the games off very well.
While parking was easy in the Macron Stadium car park, the hotel was also close to a train station for connections to Preston and Manchester.
If work ever takes me back to Bolton, I would consider staying at Whites again.

Only an overnight stay but excellent facilities, location and service and a good breakfast. Nice room with minor traffic hum in distance until early hours and a little late noise from a couple of returning guests, nothing serious. Breakfast is buffet style with a decent choice. Overall a very good experience.

the room was lovely, clean and a welcome sight for my tired feet! However, the bed was awful. The second we pulled the duvet back the dip in the middle of the bed was apparent.

Even as tired as I was I couldn't get comfy. I did expect slightly better from this hotel, especially as we thought we'd book a slightly superior pitch view room! you may want to check the bed in that room!

Great for a stay especially for a game at the stadium. Horwich just up the road for some great pubs and eateries, the bar in the hotel is great although a little expensive compared to some.
Breakfast was extensive and good value when pre-booked.
Staff were friendly especially Andrew on reception who reminded us of Peter Kay.
