This was our first stay at Whites and we were impressed with the welcome we received at reception and the modern 'Art Deco' feel of the place. There was more than ample free parking, although I don't know what it would be like on match days. The location just off the M61 and near Horwich Parkway train station is very accessible and convenient. Manchester is only 30 minutes away by train.
Our room was comfortable but we were a little disappointed with the old style TV. The bath was a good size but the shower screen lacked a base seal and it was impossible to prevent water escaping onto the bathroom floor.
The buffet breakfast was acceptable, though a little cool on the first morning, but one of our cups and the coffee pot were cracked. Something I would not expect in a four star hotel.
Although we were generally impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the hotel information guide in the room stated "Please note guests are not allowed to bring their own food and drink for personal consumption on the property. A £30 fine will be imposed if seen or reported." In my opinion, this is somewhat threatening and not the warmest welcome to extend to hotel guests. However, the hotel is next to a large retail park with a good selection of restaurants and fast food outlets, so there is no need to eat in the hotel. There are also M&S, ASDA and Tesco stores nearby. So you could buy sandwiches or snacks to take away: not that I would suggest trying to sneak them past reception and eating them in your room!!

We booked a room here as we held my Uncles wake at a suite in the hotel, the staff went the extra mile the whole time including taking a group of the kids down to the pitch and a mini tour, amazing. The food was lovely and the breakfast had something for everyone. The room was clean and comfortable but did get really warm and as was patio doors leading to the terrace it was locked so couldn't get any fresh air in, lovely view of the pitch from room.

I've stayed here before and it was good to see the service is as good as before. The check in staff are helpful and smiley, which is nice. Free WiFi that works on the 4th floor.
Breakfast is very good - excellent porridge and fresh cooked bacon and eggs. Only tiny gripe was the limited choice of room drinks (only 1 chocolate sachet). View form the front of the hotel is boring - carparks, some rooms apparently look onto the Bolton football ground (The hotel is part of the Reebok stadium). Local taxis easily booked.

We stayed here on a bank holiday and we loved it. The service was the really good. The room was very clean with sky sports on TV for the lads. The breakfast was extra and we were glad we decided to have it as it was really good. We got back to the hotel late and the bar was closed but they could not do enough for us and opened the bar so we could have a night cap. We will go back soon.

I stayed a this Hotel for 2 nights whilst on business and was most impressed overall. The Conference facilities were light and spacious and just the right temperature, but the long corridors to access them from the main Hotel are quite tiresome.
The rooms were clean and quiet,in fact I slept very well, but I think they need to upgrade to flat screen TV's in the rooms and Air conditioning because it is very noisy from the road when the windows were open.
My only criticism was the breakfast,it was generally very good until I decided to order a ham omelette! After 15 mins. this omelette had still not arrived,on inquiry I was told the Chef had burned the first one and was now making me another. After another 15 mins. the elusive omelette finally arrived,by this time the rest of my colleagues had finished their breakfast! This omelette was the most disappointing I have ever eaten, greasy and over cooked with the ham just sprinkled on the top,not folded in.
Generally I would recommend this Hotel to even non football fans, like me,but don't order an omelette for your breakfast!!!

My wife and I stayed here last week. It was supposed to have been the week before but we received and email saying they could not honour our booking because of a large company boking had not left. This did screw up our plans with some friends we had arranged to meet. In fairness an alternative booking had been made at the Mercure hotel, but it is too far away considering our other plans.

We were offered the penthouse suite and complimentary breakfast for the following week which we accepted. The room was clean and very spacious - separate living room area and large bathroom. If I was to complain about anything it would be only the view of the car park rather than the pitch. Two large flat screen tv's with a good range of channels. Rooms very quiet and we had a good nights sleep. Breakfast the next day was more than acceptable. Free wifi - with good bandwdth is worth a mention and can be used for as many devices as you want, no registration codes or other messing around.

Only item I would mention - is in the guest information it says only food and drink bought on the premises can be consumed in your room ( yes in your room ! ) and if noticed you can be charged/fined in some way. Not sure how legal it is to do this and I think it is utterly ridiculous rule. If I bring a packet of crisps or bottle of water in the room I can be charged it seems ( if somebody notices ). Would love to see a response from DeVere management on this.

Anyway, to sum up, yes there was a problem with my original booking but DeVere, made it right.
Sometimes things go wrong and it is what you do about it that counts.

Good location next to the retail park, good wifi, nice clean rooms and hotel, polite attentive staff. I would go back again for sure.

Handy location being a few minutes off the M61. Modern clean hotel with leisure facilities forming part of the Reebok Stadium.
We had a really nice room overlooking the football pitch.
Bar is reasonably priced as was the coffee bar £2.95 for a really nice Latte.
Wasn't the warmest of greets on check in but overall the staff were great. TV s are not great and need upgrading in my opinion. Really comfy beds though.
Modern retail shopping area a few minutes away with numerous chain restaurants to choose from.
Well worth a visit if staying in the Bolton area.

We LOVED this place!!!!!!!!

Got a really good weekend rate and travelled only a few miles from Manchester, but loved the experience.

This hotel is beautiful.. we walked in and said "WOW".. the reception area is magnificent, the staff checked us in efficiently and all was good!

The room was excellent, everything we needed, plus and comfortable.

Before going out for the evening we did a walk around the hotel and ventured into the restaurant... well... it is amazing, overlooking the football ground, views were breathtaking.

We had a brilliant night out on the complex next door, we went shopping, then bowling and then had a good evening at a nice Chinese restaurant.

We went back to the hotel and had drinks in the fantastic bar before going back to the room for the night.

Yes... this is Bolton.... but yes............ it was BRILLIANT !!!

Go and see it for yourselves!

Overall this was a great stay, and good value for money. I stayed here with my other half as we were going to go ape which was nearby the next day. I purchased the Love Sunday Special offer which included dinner, bed and breakfast which was only £30 more than the price of a double room. Considering breakfast for 2 would have been about £21 you couldn't beat it. (you can only get this deal on their actual website)
After settling in to our clean spacious room with a huge bed, we went and used the pool jacuzzi and sauna facilities which were nice and quiet and free of charge.
Unfortunately the reflections restaurant was closed and we were told that we could only chose our meal off the bar menu, despite the restaurant having menus at a set price they still allowed us to chose any 3 courses each off the bar menu to honour their agreement of a 3 course meal at the hotel.
Although its a shame we couldn't eat in the restaurant as it overlooked the pitch (you could still go in and have a nosy) we ate in the bar and the food was beautiful, we had some lovely homemade soup of the day, a main each and some yummy chocolate melt in the middle puddings. Some of the staff in the bar didn't seem aware of what was happening with the restaurant been closed and the meal deal but overall good service and they asked if we needed a break in between courses, which we did cos they were so filling!
Breakfast was great, better than I've had at other hotels, for example there was hardly any fat on the bacon which is always a bonus!
A lovely hotel would definitely stay again
