With its golden sand beach and clear crystal water, Barafundle bay is widely known as one of the best beaches in the United Kingdom, some have even compared it to the Caribbean beach. Barafundle Bay is owned by the National Trust and is part of the South Pembrokeshire Heritage Coast and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. The beach is the winner of both the Seaside Award (Rural) and the Green Coast Award. There is no lifeguard service on the beach. Dogs are allowed on the beach. The beach is great for bathing, swimming and walking.
Amroth, Pembrokeshire, SA67
A beach that is half a mile long, flat and sandy. There is a massive expense of sand when the tide is low, making it suitable for numerous beach games. Rockpools can be identified at the western end of the beach. Also at the top of the beach are groynes. There is a lifeguard at the beach between the start of July until the end of September. In 2013 the beach was awarded a seaside award (resort) and a blue flag. The nearest town to Amroth is Tenby.
