We are so proud at the bestofyork of our armed forces, and believe it is so important to remember all those who have lost their lives in combat, or those that still serve. To wear a poppy, or to stand in silence today is to pay your respects to every fallen hero who has given us the lives we live today. Politics need to be forgotten on a day like today, it doesn't matter whether you believe in the wars we have been or are involved in. All the matters is that they have or are happening and so many brave men and women are giving their lives in order to preserve our freedom. I saw today on the train 3 men, in their army uniforms, clad in their medals and berets. They gave up their seats and stood instead so as to allow some older ladies to sit down. Then I saw something that made me proud to be British, something that actually for me sums up days like today, the conductor upon seeing these men told each one to go and sit in 1st class for free. These people are worthy of our respect and our gratitude and this message needs to be passed on to all future generations as the Great War and ww2 are passing out of living memory. As long as people are willing to fight and die for our country then we are still a nation to be proud of
