The I dependant movie producers ELSA are planning to shoot a £20 million film in Fawkes' home city. The producers say it will centre around Guy Fawkes' life and particularly the gunpowder plot. This is great new as we close in on bonfire night.
A spokesman for ElSA hinted at themes based on pirates of the Caribbean and se7en as inspiration and even hinted that a big name Hollywood star such as Orlando Bloom could be targeted for the main role.
The film would be shot in studios at the university if York and also on the streets and landmarks of York itself. So watch out if you're stepping into York in 2015 as that is the proposed date for shooting with a hopeful release in 2016.
The film would continue to boost Yorks already booming tourist trade. And would give us Yorkies a chance to see our great city in the spotlight of the world.
