February 14th doesn’t just mark the end of our 14-Days of Love Campaign; it is, of course, Valentine’s Day as well. It’s the one-day of the year when we’re meant to tell that special someone in our lives how much they mean to us, and show our love with a card and gift.

So this year, we’ve decided to help you all find the perfect present for your loved one, and keep the flames of romance burning.

Chocolates are always a great thing to give someone on Valentine’s Day. But instead of buying an off the shelf box from the high street, try something different from Aballu Chocolatier in Rossett. Jo, the owner, has been making handmade chocolates since 2006 and this year she’s got loads of Valentine-themed treats on offer. Try one of her mini chocolate-pizzas with mini-truffles on the slices. They’re perfect for sharing with that special someone, and the truffles come in interesting flavours like pink champagne, raspberry mallow, toffee pecan, salted caramel, dark nutty, dark cinnamon, marbled milk and white, and lemon and ginger.  Every pizza has a solid chocolate heart at its centre.  And for something more traditional, you can pick up a box of mixed champagne truffles or chocolate heart casket filled with truffles and chocolate hearts at the shop too.

Sticking with the food theme, why not have a romantic meal in and recreate your favourite dish from Try Thai Noodle Bar?  Pop in to the noodle bar and ask one of the chefs what’s in it and how to cook it and then go and find the ingredients in the Try Thai Shop. Everything that’s used in the noodle bar is available in the shop so you can enjoy cooking and eating it with your loved one at home.

There’s plenty of other ways to treat your other half too. They can be pampered at Pure Perfection in Rossett, have their makeup and nails done at The Beauty Rooms or get a stylish haircut and makeover at Time2BU in Eagles Meadow.

You could also spend a romantic evening away from home at the cosy, intimate Mulsford Cottage. This picturesque cottage is situated in the beautiful countryside and is a wonderful break away where you can relax and enjoy a gorgeous roaring fire with a glass of wine, delicious home cooked meal and a restful night’s sleep.

And for something really different, visit JamiQ’s on the industrial estate, and speak to them about getting a truly unique valentine’s message printed on a key ring, mug or mouse mat. In fact, you can get any message printed onto just about anything at JamiQ’s. Speak to Daniel and his team about what you want, and he’ll be able to do it for you. He’s just had a new machine delivered that can engrave almost any surface, including glass and wood.
