What a massive success our Buy Local campaign was. I hope you will look for the “Buy Local” stickers in shop windows when you’re out and about. The team gave out close to 100 – we ran out in the end! Over 150 pledges were collected for your favourite Wrexham shops and services. And...if that wasn’t enough, we had a local winner in the national draw for £100 to spend at a member’s shop!
But, I’m not finished yet. What about An Evening With the Bestof – where we celebrated the Buy Local campaign. This was on Thursday evening at the Bamford Suite at the Racecourse. Local businesses displayed their wares, Voodoo Moon gave an entertaining cocktail demonstration and Aballu Chocolates supplied ever-so-clever samples for a chocolate challenge.
Thanks also to Nightingale House, The Lazarus Group, Try Thai, North Wales Crusaders, Minimal Media, Stuart Bingham Photography, Border Music, Wrexham Business Line and AM Lesley Griffiths’ office for your added support and participation in the evening.
Nationally, the Buy Local campaign by thebestof organisation was also a huge success. Celebrity endorsements and party atmospheres were evident up and down the country as customers, businesses, politicians and yes, celebrities, got involved. Everyone loves the good old high street. But not all great businesses are front and centre. So much good service takes place by hard-working entrepreneurs. Whether it be home-based, high street or ‘round the corner.
Naturally, we at thebestof Wrexham are super proud of our members and their businesses. They have already been recommended by local people – that’s how they got to be members! So, what about the others? Have a think and take a moment to pledge your support to a business in the Wrexham County Borough who deserves some recognition. The pledges are still being taken on our website, even after the local campaign is over. Imagine what a boost an owner gets when finding out someone has taken the time to recommend them.
