Are you organising or taking part in an event in Wrexham to celebrate International Women's Day?

Taking place every year on March 8, thousands of events occur across the world to mark the political, economic and social achievements of women AND it's not just women alone who mark the occasion - organisations, charities, educational institutions, businesses and more also celebrate the day.

The theme for International Women's Day 2014 in Wales is "Empowering women in Wales in times of austerity" and Glyndwr University and Wrexham County Council are each holding an event to mark the occasion:

Glyndwr University

Dr Jan Green is delivering a lecture entitled: All You Need Is a Fan: Inspiring Change from 12noon to 1pm in the Nick Whitehead Theatre, Wrexham Campus on Friday, 07 March 2014. Everyone is welcome but places are limited. Click Here for more information.

Wrexham County Council

The local authority is giving young women from Wrexham's Senedd Yr Ifanc the chance to Shadow a Chief Executive and County Councillor with the aim of encouraging young women to consider politics and the public sector as their preferred career path. Date: 11 March 2014 9.00 to 17.00. Click Here for more information.

If you are celebrating International Women's Day by promoting women's rights in any way, please send us the details.
