Community fun day

Beth Bennett, a Wrexham resident, is organising a community fun day on Llwyn Isaf green and Queen Square in the town centre, on Saturday 24 August from 11am, as a part of her ‘Change Wrexham for our future’ campaign.

Beth is inviting local businesses and groups to come and be involved by holding a stall, hosting fun activities or demos to attract families and visitors to the event, with the aim of showing what a great place Wrexham is.

Change Wrexham for our future

Beth created the facebook campaign ‘Change Wrexham for our future’ which already has over 2000 ‘likes’. We spoke to Beth who told us about her motivation to create the campaign.

‘I was born and bred in Wrexham and lived here for 21 years. I moved away and was surprised how much I missed Wrexham. When I came back it was like a mecca, I hadn’t realised before what a pretty town it is and all the great things that we have on our doorstep, ‘ says Beth.

‘I think many people are the same as I was, with always having lived in Wrexham they may not realise how lucky we are. Wrexham is full of lovely friendly people and if you just read the local paper you can see all the great things that are going on here.’

‘We need to pay for public liability and electricity for the event so we’ll be holding raffles beforehand to raise the money for that. The plan is that everyone can hold their stall free of charge.’

Thebestof Wrexham team are in full support of this campaign and we’ll be helping Beth spread the word and hosting a stall at the event too!
