On 4 December 2013, the Minister for Economy, Science and Transport announced that Professor Brian Morgan would be engaging with business and other stakeholders to seek views on the priorities for business rates policies following the announcement by the UK Government to fully devolve business rates to Wales.

This follows the UK Government's positive response to the Silk Commission recommendation to fully devolve business rates to Wales which will provide Wales with a stronger lever to encourage economic growth.

A consultative workshop will be held in North Wales on Wednesday 29 January 2014 between 13:00-16:00 at the Conwy Business Centre, Llandudno Junction.

This workshop will offer an important opportunity to identify priorities for future business rates policy.

This engagement work will complement technical discussions between the Welsh and UK Governments on the mechanics of devolving business rates to Wales.

If you would like to attend, please email businessrates@wales.gsi.gov.uk as soon as possible.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided, so please let us know if you have any particular dietary or access requirements.
