Business Lessons from an Elite Athlete
2nd October 2013

Thebestof Wrexham is delighted to welcome Chris Russell, Olympic Laser Class Sailor as our guest speaker on 24th October, and you're invited!

Strictly a ticket-only event, it will give you an opportunity to meet an Olympic-class athlete and to network with local business leaders!

The event is Thursday 24 October 2013, 7pm-9pm at The 1873 Suite, Wrexham FC ground, Mold Road, Wrexham.

Chris is well-known in the sailing world. His presentation will explore ideas on breaking some preconceptions as to what it means to own/run a small business AND be successful. World class athletes share a number of attributes required to compete at an elite level. These traits are equally applicable in the business world.

Based out of Strangford Lough, Northern Ireland, Chris began sailing at the age of 5 and hasn't looked back. He progressed quickly to an International level as a youth in the Optimist, 420, Laser Radial, and later 470 classes.

Having taken some time out from the sport to focus on his studies and building a career in advertising/marketing, he returned in 2009 to the single-handed Olympic Laser Class, with the aim of reaching the very top of the sport.

Chris is currently training for the World Championships in Oman this November.  Qualification for the Rio 2016 Olympics begins in September 2014.

Tickets can be booked through the eventbrite link and are open to Members and Non-members. A limited number of stands are available for bestofWrexham members.
