National Campaign to Boost Local Business
We are always hearing doom and gloom about the recession and how difficult it is for businesses. Now there is some help at hand! The Newspaper Society have devised a nationwide campaign with over 450 local and regional newspapers, backed by David Cameron.
The Herald and Gazette have announced that they are working as part of this scheme to help our local economy and to give businesses a boost.
Any young business aged between one and three years are able to nominate themselves as part of the Local Business Accelerators Initiative until the 14th November.
The winner will receive three months free advertising along with mentoring advice from established and influencial business people.
The local mentors are:
- Worthings Secret Millionnaire, Gill Fielding who runs a wealth management firm. She is also a big public speaker, runs motivational courses, has multiple books to her name and is the Patron of the Worthing and Adur Chamber of Commerce.
- JSPC Computer Services Managing Director James Stoner. At the latest Adur and Worthing Business Awards his business not only won the Business of the Year Award but James himself won Business Person of the Year. James is extremely keen in offering advice to the winning firm.
- Spofforths Partner Chay Took has an abundance of experience within the accountancy world. He stated: “I am delighted to be involved with the scheme as it’s a great way to help promote business growth in our local community. At Spofforths we are encouraging fledgling companies from the area to nominate themselves. It’s such a fantastic opportunity and there are so many inspirational business people in our area that should consider entering."
