As part of its very successful Hoops 4 Health programme, Worthing Thunder plays host to the first of two tournaments, which starts this Saturday before the home game with Bradford Dragons.

Five of the participating schools, Broadwater C.E , Downsbrook Middle, Orchards, West Park and The Vale will compete and on Saturday, March 31st, two teams will go through to the finals.

The tournament is due to start at 5.00pm with each school playing the others in a "round Robin" event.

A similar tournament involving five other schools will take place at Worthing Leisure Centre on Saturday 24th March.

Each school will have received a "Road Show" which involves a study of fitness, how to maintain and manage a good diet and other health related issues, plus basketball sessions, including four additional basketball coaching sessions for all the pupils in Year 5.

The programme is generously sponsored by Southern Water and will have reached over one thousand pupils by Saturday night.
