Worthing Idol 2010
Worthing Idol 2010 is a brand new talent show coming to Worthing THIS bank holiday weekend, (August 30th ) in the style of televisions Britain’s Got Talent (but luckily without Simon Cowell). Instead the judges for the competition are three well-known local Wor-lebrities:
· Tim Loughton MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Children and Families
· Amelia Regnante, Regnante School of Performing Arts
· Andy Sparsis, Proto Restaurant Group
The idea was created by Talent Within You a charitable organisation founded by Vicky Vaughan who wanted to reduce street crime and violence by giving children a purpose. They find talent in both children and young adults and help give them funding to develop their skills to the next level. Talent Within You believe that all children have talent and by raising funds from local businesses and promoting them through their local area, they help raise the children’s profile and give them the recognition they deserve.
The competition is open to any body up to the age of 18, however unfortunately auditions are now closed. The auditions saw talent including everything from singing, dancing, magic and comedy. Please take a look at the audition videos on you tube and you can see the chosen line up for the event here.
Please take note that the location has now been changed and is taking place at the Worthing Lido (covered in case it rains) between 12pm-3pm. The prize giving will start from 3:30pm with all contestants receiving a Worthing Idol 2010 medal and the winner receiving a fantastic £250 to be put towards developing their talent.
There is special thanks to Worthing Town Centre Initiative who has kindly funded the event, and The Brand Surgery who designed all of the promotional material, including the logo and website.
