Strikers free-scoring as Rebels win three of three

It has been an impressive spell for Worthing Football Club over the past two weeks, with the Rebels well and truly hitting form during a string of away fixtures. Manager Chris White had some harsh words to say after a home defeat to Dulwich Hamlet on January 22nd, but his side responded in style with three classy away victories.

The Rebels, perhaps buoyed by the possibility of this year’s final being the first match to be played at Brighton & Hove Albion’s new Amex Stadium, bounced back with a 2-0 win at Wick in the Sussex Senior Cup.

This was closely followed by a superb victory on the road again, this time 4-0 in the Ryman Division One South against Sittingbourne. Recently signed striker George Gaskin continued his good form by netting a double as Worthing romped to victory.

On the following Tuesday (1st February), the Rebels left Fleet Town disappointed, but this was due to the fact that they were leading 2-1 when the match was abandoned due to fog. White’s team certainly were not downhearted though, and they responded with a fantastic 3-0 thrashing of high flying Metropolitan Police in their own backyard.

Gaskin is proving to be a very good signing, and netted his sixth goal in seven appearances against the Police, with strike partner Terry Dodd scoring his third in three games.

The Rebels now have three successive home matches to look forward to, so why not pop down to the A2B Stadium, Woodside Road, Worthing, BN14 7HQ and cheer your local side onto victory!

The upcoming fixtures are as follows:

Worthing vs. Chatham Town (Ryman Division One South) – Tuesday 8th February, kick-off at 19:45.

Worthing vs. Fleet Town (Ryman Division One South) – Saturday 12th February, kick-off at 15:00.

Worthing vs. Rye United (Sussex Senior Cup) – Tuesday 15th February, kick-off at 19:45.
