The Twist (July 7) Worthing Pavilion Theatre

Doing The Twist with Strictly Come Dancing’s lead singer.

A new 50s and 60s rock ‘n’ roll show is brought to Worthing Pavilion Theatre on July 7 by Strictly Come Dancing lead vocalist Chris Madin and West End performer Suzy Jary.

This cast invite audiences to join them as they perform 50s and 60s hits against the backdrop of an American diner, recreated in stage.  The show tells the story of “Big” Tony Tremendo, the diner owner,  who creates the show in his diner with a live band, comedy sketches and dancing waitresses Maisey, Daisey and Shirley who become The Twistettes.

The Twist featured in series 2 of CBBC’s The Big Performance which encouraged shy would-be performers to take a starring-role on stage. It is performed in the style of a live 50s radio broadcast, being transmitted direct from the Twist Diner with DJ Danny Dellany coordinating the tracks.

Suzi Jary began her career in 125th Street in the West End and has since toured nationally performing as Dusty Springfield.  She and Chris perform the lead vocals form most tracks including Downtown, Halfway to Paradise and Son of a Preacher Man.

Chris Madin says: “It’s Happy Days meets Buddy in our hit-a -minute musical extravaganza which lets audiences relive the fabulous songs of a great rock ‘n’ roll era, wrapped in a family style atmosphere”.
