This years Worthing Lions Festival is set to be the biggest yet! The annual festival is a major event in Worthings calender and just gets bigger and better every year with more events added and even more visitors coming along to celebeate.

 

Last year the festival raised a staggering £12,000 which was donated to local charities and saw over 50,000 visitors flock to the events.

 

Why not come along and help celebrate this year and enjoy plenty fun filled events whilst raising money for local causes.

 

The events in this years calender include:

 

22nd and 23rd July - Splash FM Garden Party - Steyne Gardens

29th July - Light Ride – 9:30am from Sea Lane Cafe to the Pier

29th July - Fireworks – from the pier 10pm approx - a procession will kick start this evening including the Goldwing Light Parade motorcycles, a bus, a fire engine and the Lions van. The evening will then be rounded off with the £4000 firework display.

30th July - Community Fun Day – Steyne Gardens – 1pm until 6pm the day includes a dog show, punch and judy, face painting music from Northbrook band and Worthing Silver Band

30th July - Fire Station Open Day – 10am until 4pm at Ardsheal Road, Broadwater - this event has been running for 30 years and is the largest in the south attracting over 6000 people a year.

30th July - General Market – noon until 9pm – on the Promenade the Lido to Heene Road with Worthing Lions charity stall noon until 6pm outside the Lido, Marine Parade

31st July - Charity Market – noon until 5pm - on the Promenade the Lido to Heene Road with Worthing Lions charity stall outside the Lido, Marine Parade

30th & 31st July - Live Music Entertainment – at the bandstand Montague Street

31st July - Bus Rally - Marine Parade - 65 buses will take to the streets for the annual bus rally. This is the 15th year and will include buses from the 1950s and 60s. Enjoy free bus rides along the coast from Angmering to Shoreham.

31st July - American Rod & Custom Car show – noon to 5pm at Steyne Gardens - enjoy a display of over 300 cars at the 26th annual Car Show dating from the 1930s onwards. There will also be a rock and roll DJ, an American Diner and lots of stalls.  

31st July - Dragon Boat Racing (WADARS) – Brooklands Park, Lancing - 10am to 4pm - 24 teams will take place in a race on the parks lake in a bid to become the first winners of the festival.

31st July - Sussex Goldwings - motorcycle display – noon to 5pm on seafront by Lido

22nd July to 2nd August - Stevens Funfair Friday - 2pm until 10:30pm on Worthing seafront from Steyne Gardens to Lido
