Spofforths Worthing trainees celebrate exam success

Trainee accountants from Spofforths, a trusted firm of chartered accountants and tax advisers, are celebrating after passing various ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) Professional Stage examinations.

Three of the trainees are based at the firm’s Worthing office and they are delighted with their results.  They were joined by seven other trainees from the Sussex based accountancy firm who also successfully sat examinations towards the Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification.

One Spofforths trainee scooped the Watts prize, a prestigious award, for gaining the highest mark worldwide in her exam.  Those based in Worthing included trainee Louise Saward who passed an Audit and Assurance exam, along with a Financial Accounting paper.  She was joined by trainee David Hamilton-Brown who focussed on taxation and financial reporting, while trainee Jake Standing passed exams in business strategy and financial management.

Peter Hussey, Spofforths staff partner based in the firm’s Worthing office, read the results and commented: “I am proud of our trainees and delighted that their hard work has paid off.  The ICAEW examinations are tough but our trainees were determined to succeed and they all set aside time to study, both in and outside of the office.  We provided them with as much support as possible to make sure they felt confident going in to their exams.  I congratulate them all as passing these tests is a wonderful achievement.”
