The 2012 English Ladies Tenpin Bowling Team are heading to Holland in June to participate in the European Women's Tenpin Bowling Championships. Headed up by local bowler Lisa John, the team are already training hard and working together to raise funds to pay for their trip. Unfortunately, with declining membership numbers in the UK the British Tenpin Bowling Association are unable to fund the trip as it has done in previous years. This means that the girls are working hard at local level to help raise the funds needed, approximately £5,000 in total.
With cost in mind, the team are looking to travel to Holland in the most cost effective way possible. Unfortunately due to the amount of equipment that is needed during the championships, flying is not a viable option. The team are therefore looking at other transport options such as driving themselves or taking a minibus. Hiring a minibus is the sensible option as it would mean that the team get to travel together and all arrive at the same time. However, with costs already quite high the team are appealing to local businesses/sports clubs/companies who may have a minibus which they would like to donate/lend/hire to the team for 2 weeks in June.
