Ironman Triathlon Update

You may recall from previous articles that Phil Brisotw is attempting an ironman triathlon on 1 July and with less than 5 weeks to go there is still some serious training to be done. So far he has endured injury and coped with the antics of drivers and pedestrians whilst out cycling and running, but hopefully it will be all worthwhile.

he is raising money for dizzy: Support for Diabetes based in Rustington and Worthing Town FC Palatine Project and if you would like to donate or read the regular updates on his  training and the idiots I encounter please visit www.hiphiphooray.org.uk.

The race is on Sunday 1 July 2012 at Nottingham Holme Pierrepoint National Watersports Centre over the distance of a 2.4 mile (3900 metre) open water swim, 112 mile (180 Km) bike ride and a 26.2 mile (42 km) marathon distance run.

Phil is aiming to raise a total of £5000 for dizzy : support 4 diabetes and Worthing Town FC Palatine Project. Phil has decided that whilst football is extremely important, despite the famous words of the ex Liverpool Manager Bill Shankly, it is not more important than life and death and any money donated will be split two thirds to Dizzy and one third to the Worthing Town Palatine Project.

If you would like to donate towards Phil’s fantastic efforts and help these fabulous causes you can do it directly through the dizzy website

You can keep up to date on Phil’s training blog on his website

The bestofworthing are proud to be sponosring this event for such worthy causes.
