Guild Care are currently recruiting volunteers for a new Home from Hospital Service in Worthing and Adur. As a Home Visitor, you will visit older people in their homes to help with practical tasks such as collecting prescriptions or shopping, light housework or helping with paperwork and possibly even supporting people to attend appointments or social groups in the community. Encouragement and emotional support, simply chatting and taking an interest in the person’ life, is as much a part of these volunteering roles as the practical support needed following a stay in hospital.
As a Home Visitor you will be part of a large team and will receive training, advice and support from the service’s co-ordinators as well as one-to-one and team meetings.
