Date for you diary - New playground to be unveiled Gull Island is the name that’s been given to the brand new playground being built in Beach House Grounds.
The playground is being funded from the EU through the Seaconomics project successfully awarded to Worthing Council this year. The official opening of the playground will take place on Saturday 20th October from 11am – 4pm (official opening 11.30am) .
The whole area around Beach House Grounds will be buzzing with loads going on in Denton Gardens, Splash Point and the seafront area. The event will be a celebration of our European connections; Richard Ashworth MEP will officially open the playground at 11.30am. Worthing Mayor & Worthing Youth Mayor will be in attendance (TBC). Children are invited to come along and take part in a range of fun activities being planned including children’s arts and crafts workshops including Gull Making, a Beach Soccer tournament, petanque taster sessions and more.
There will be live music, entertainment and kids rides. Watch the artists at work in the East Beach Studios. Plus there will be loads of EU freebies to take away. You’ll be able to eat your way around Europe with a selection of food stalls serving up all sorts of European delights; from Paella and Pasta, Moules and Frites and Crepes and more.
