Bob the Builder (June 8, 1pm and 3.30pm) Worthing Connaught Theatre
Beloved builder Bob must help fix the theatre.
The Fixham Theatre needs its stage fixed and Bob the Builder’s fans have the chance to discover whether their hero manages to save the day when he visits Worthing Connaught Theatre twice on Friday June 8.
The team who brought Roary the Racing Car, The Little Big Club and Sesame Street Live to the town return with the cheerful builder and his friends in their new show. Audiences will find out whether Bob can help local talent scout Dickie Olivier fix the stage at the Fixham Theatre for his new musical even though Spud’s dreams of being the star of the show threaten the whole operation.
There are well-known and original songs throughout the show which create the soundtrack for Bob’s theatre-building adventure. By his side are Scoop, Lofty, Scrambler and Wendy, ready to help wherever they can with tasks which include the creation of a snow machine.
Bob the Builder’s directors Jason Francis and Nick George have both co-written and co-produced all the shows for Premier Productions which have included stage versions of classic children’s brands such as Rupert Bear, Mr Men and Little Miss, Bananas in Pyjamas, Brum and The Tales of Peter Rabbit. They keep their live versions as faithful to the originals as possible, including the use of the same celebrity voices from television such as Dave Benson Phillips and Chris Jarvis voicing their Dream Street characters for the live show, Jane Horrocks as the live voice of Fifi Forget-Me-Not and most recently Murray Walker, Sir Stirling Moss and Peter Kay voicing Roary the Racing Car.
Children of all ages can look forward to joining in with the songs in Bob the Builder, encouraging the building works, finding out whether the theatre will be ready in time and whether Spud achieves his dream of becoming a superstar.
