News from Adur and Worthing councils - Adur gives out money to the community

Groups can apply for up to £5k from a pot of 80K or over this amount in exceptional circumstances, for new or existing projects that meet one of our five priority areas:

promoting health & wellbeing in the local community

promoting community involvement and volunteering opportunities

targeting inequalities and deprivation

increasing partnership working between organisations, and

promoting the regeneration of the district.

Groups can discuss their ideas with the communities team on 01273 293311 before submitting their application or they can get some help making an application from Adur Voluntary Action on 01903 854980. Applications must be in by Friday 11th October,

Grants were awarded in the first round in August to Adur Churches Forum for their Annual Conference, Cruse Bereavement Care for continuation of services within Adur, Albion in the Community for the Friday Night Football Project, City Coast Trust for a bicycle project in Fishersgate and Adur Voluntary Action for the Homefront and online access projects.

Don’t worry if you can’t make this deadline there will be another opportunity to apply in the third and final round in January 2014!
