A newly qualified Chartered Accountant from Spofforths recently celebrated at The South East Society of Chartered Accountants (SESCA) annual dinner. During the event students from the society who had achieved high exam marks were presented with prizes. Winners came from a variety of organisations including Spofforths. Jake Standing, who is based at the firm’s Worthing office, received the prize for Order of Merit for the Professional Stage examinations.
The prestigious event was open to members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Special guests included leading figures from industry in the South East and senior members from practice, local government and academia.
Speaking of the evening, SESCA President, Tony Bennewith, said: “Students from the society have done exceptionally well to win prizes following at least three year’s training. The evening was a chance to celebrate this success and to bring together ICAEW chartered accountants who play an integral part in many types of businesses across the South East. ”
Peter Hussey, Staff Partner at Spofforths, added: “We are delighted that Jake received the Order of Merit as it is a wonderful achievement, following a great deal of hard work. Year-on–year our trainees excel in the tough industry examinations and go on to do great things. We work closely with students to ensure that they have all of the advice and support required to perform to their best ability.”
