During the weekend of 3rd - 5th February Wolverhampton hosted a variety of events for its seventh literature festival.

There were talks by the likes of Soul II Soul frontman Jazzie B with his new autobiography and Irvine Welsh, author of Trainspotting, talking about his new book.

A big part of this popular festival has been the community involvement with poets, authors and performers from across the region having the opportunity to meet up in a central location and celebrate their craft.

"This year" said Ian Henery (pictured with Claire Tedstone, poet and artist and Steve C Davies, author, Tenebrous Texts) the Mander Centre Community Hub in the Mander Centre has become the centre of activities."

The event in the Hub, which can be found on the lower level heading out towards Victoria Street, has provided authors and artists a place to showcase their work, talk to members of the public and sell their books and artwork throughout the full 3 days of the festival.

There have also been live performances in the Hub with a diverse group of performers including poet, author and comic compere Brendan Hawthorne, poet Laura Liptrot, author Steve C Davies, WCR presenter Susan Vickers (pictured) and poet and artist Claire Tedstone.

"I just want to thank everyone who has supported us" said Ian Henery, who is Poet in Residence of WCR.  "We have received generous support from Wolverhampton Fair Trade, Arcs n Sparks, Breakwell Paints, Sassy Coffee and the Tapri Coffee House.
