Walk-in clinics for the week ahead

The drive to make life-saving Covid-19 vaccines as easily accessible as possible to people in Wolverhampton continues, with more walk-in vaccination sites open this week.

Covid-19 vaccinations are available at the clinics to anyone aged 18 or older, without needing to book ahead. All of the clinics are offering first and second doses, but these must be 8 weeks apart. Most have Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines, although stocks vary between location.

Clinics are being held at locations around the city including:

  • Bradley Methodist Church Monday 2 until Sunday 8 August 9am – 6pm
  • Keats Grove Surgery Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 August 8am – 7pm
  • Woodcross Health Centre Monday 2 until Saturday 7 August 2.30pm – 8.30pm
  • Bingley Strengthening Families Hub Monday 2 August 10am – 5.45pm
  • Aldersley Leisure Village Monday 2 August 2pm – 5pm then Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 August 9.30am – 6pm
  • Boots in the Mander Centre, Monday 2 to Wednesday 4 August 9am – 1pm then 2.30pm – 5pm
  • Whitmore Reans Health Centre, Tuesday 3 August 1.30pm – 7.45pm, Wednesday 4 August 2pm – 7.30pm and Thursday 5 August 12pm – 7.30pm
  • Alfred Squire Medical Centre Wednesday 4 August 9am – 6.30pm, Thursday 5 August 9am – 4pm
  • Mayfield Medical Practice Wednesday 4 August 1pm – 8pm

Councillor Jasbir Jaspal, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, said: “Now that all adults are eligible for their Covid-19 vaccine, we are seeing more and more younger people coming forward to get theirs. Just over half of all 18-29 year olds have now had their first doses, and are on their way to being fully protected with their second shots, due eight weeks after the first.

“And it’s also reassuring to see that over 135,000 people have now had both doses of their vaccine, giving them the best protection from Covid-19 and reducing the likelihood of them passing it on to others.

“Full vaccination also has other benefits, as people who can show they are fully vaccinated no longer have to isolate when returning from many countries abroad, and proof of vaccination may be required in some social settings from September too, such as to enter nightclubs or large sporting events.

“We want to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to have their jabs as soon as possible, so anyone over the age of 18 who has not yet had their first dose, or is due their second one, can go along to one of walk-in clinics open across the city and get their life-saving jabs without needing to book ahead.”

In addition to this week’s walk-in clinics, the vaccine bus will be at Phoenix Park, returning eight weeks after it was last there. The vaccine bus is open Thursday 5 August 1pm – 6pm then Friday 6 until Sunday 8 August 11am – 6pm.

Cllr Jaspal added: “Anyone who had their first dose when the bus was at Phoenix Park last time will be due their second dose now, so having the bus back in the park means it’s easy for them to pop along and get fully protected.”
