The team at Gatis have been working very hard to arrange a raft of new events for the coming month.   Below are the details of upcoming events and we really hope to see you there.   Every Friday 11am to 3pm Friendly Fridays - now featuring regular activities including Art Sessions, Craftivism, Community Panels and Fitness Sessions these sessions are designed to help local community members make new friendships, learn new skills, try new activities and become more involved in their local community.  Below is a photo of a recent session when we were joined by our local MP Eleanor Smith who came along to find out all about what we do here at Gatis and how we can help make Whitmore Reans a better place to live.  She even had a go at sifting some compost!   Half Term Activities - 29th to 31st May 2019   Wednesday 29th May 
  • Crazy Golf Day 11am to 3pm - come and have a go at our crazy 9 hole golf course and get your name up on the leader board (fancy dress optional but encouraged - well it is CRAZY golf!)
  • Family Play Day 10am to 3pm - water and sand play, indoor games, books and community cafe, adventure play area open and wilderness mud pit kitchen open
Thursday 30th May
  • Bushcraft Activities 12 to 3pm - featuring a mix of fire lighting, den building, nature arts and crafts, camp fire cooking and general relaxing in the grounds.
  • Family Play Day 10am to 3pm -  water and sand play, indoor games, books and community cafe, adventure play area open and wilderness mud pit kitchen open
  • Wrong Sides Together 4pm to 6pm - Clothing up-cycling, re-purposing and repairing, clothes swapping and cosplay club.
Friday 31st May
  • Friendly Fridays 11am to 3pm - arts activities, family fitness, film showing
  • Family Play Day 10am to 3pm -  water and sand play, indoor games, books and community cafe, adventure play area open and wilderness mud pit kitchen open
Tuesday 4th June
  • Bump to Boob breastfeeding support group  10 am to 12 - this group is aimed at supporting breastfeeding mums but is also open to anyone parent and child who is looking for regular parenting support.  This group operates weekly term time only,
  • Yoga 6.30pm to 7.30pm - weekly yoga sessions
Saturday 8th June 
  • Gatis Garden Party and Birthday Big Lunch -1pm to 4pm -  join us for a celebration of community volunteering and our 4th Birthday.  We ask that everyone brings their favourite party dish to share and have a great big lunch together.  This is a very special event for the Gatis team as they celebrate the hard work and efforts of all the volunteers and will feature some awards and some very special VIP guests.  We hope to see you there!
Thursday 13th June  
  • Rayon Flowers Gatis History - 11am to 1pm.  - Join us for the launch of our new project where will be exploring local residents memories of Gatis and the surrounding areas and arranging trips to the archives to look at historical maps and information.  This project will be helping us design the theme and lead up activities to this years lantern parade.
Friday 14th June to Friday 21st June  
  • Flour Power Mixed Media Exhibition (note this is at Newhampton Arts Centre) - join artist Rachel Arnold and explore her work utilising breaking bread and eating together to engage communities together.
Fridays 14th, 21st and 28th June
  • Real People Honest Talk 12 to 2 -  bringing people together to talk about the tough issues around how we live together well.  These sessions are facilitated by Near Neighbours and include a free lunch.  They are designed to allow local people to talk about the issues they face locally and explore what can be done to make things better.
  Monday 8th July
  • Daytime Disability Disco 1pm to 3pm - open to anyone with a focus on supporting people with disabilities to get out and get dancing.  Refreshments available at reasonable prices from Love n Peas cafe.
  All activities we ask for donations with a pay as you feel (ie what you feel it is worth) and pay it forward ethos  (ie the more you can donate the more families can access the centre and the longer we can keep it open.)   All children must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
