Young film makers from the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts in Wolverhampton will soon be seeing their work on the big screen at the prestigious Birmingham Film Festival. 3 of the students films will be shown on November 10th as part of a program with films from other local PQAs giving the students an opportunity not just to see their own films but those of their contemporaries too. Julian Elcock, Principal of the pauline Quirke Academy at Wolverhampton who organised the PQA session at the festival said “This is a huge opportunity for the students to see their work in a context normally reserved for professionals and university students. It has been great fun to organise this along with the amazing team at Birmingham Film Festival and it should inspire and encourage students that their work is taken seriously”.

In addition to watching 10 student films those attending will also take part in a question and answer session with Kia Pegg, star of CBBC The Dumping Ground and Tracey Beaker. “This is our first year running this event as part of the Birmingham Film Festival and it is something that we plan to build on as a Central Region event for our students. To see students films on the screen at Think Tank will be brilliant and to meet and ask questions of a successful actress like Kia Pegg is a great opportunity.” PQA films will form a session of their own on November 10th on the final day of the festival.
