Dig in! Woking care home to host food festival for local community

With festival season officially under way, a care home in Woking is welcoming the community for fun-filled days of food and celebrations.

Care UK’s Kingsleigh will open its doors to families and neighbours for a food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection. 

 

At Kingsleigh on Kingfield Roadon Sunday 9th August, summer celebrations will be in full swing from 12pm4pm. Visitors and residents can expect to work up an appetite enjoying the live entertainmentfrom The Decades,completed by a tasty barbecue and community-led stalls. 

 

The event is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will seeCare UK homes across the country host foodie-themed celebrations and showcase what life in a care home is really like. 

 

Each festival will showcase sustainable, community-focused initiatives while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes and traditional dishes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients. 

 

Kelly Kelleher, Home Manager at Kingsleigh, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming the local community to our very own food festival!
