
Care UK’s Greenview Hall will open its doors to families and neighbours for a food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection.
On Wednesday 5th August from 2.30pm–4pm, visitors to Greenview Hall on Streets Heathcan look forward to exploring 10 stalls with dishes from around the world, includingNepalese, Jamaican, Italianand more. Guests can tap their feet away to live music from Jane Beaumont, a fantastic local singer.
Barbara Coleman, 84, said:“I amso looking forward to our food festival!I think it is very good to try food from around the world and cannot wait to taste the different flavours from the dishes.
“When I was a child, Ireally loved my mum’s casserole – she would use vegetablesthat were grown at home, and everyone would all come to the table and enjoy the food, they are very happy memories.”
The event is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will seeCare UK homes across the country host foodie-themed celebrations and showcase what life in a care home is really like.
Each festival will showcase sustainable, community-focused initiatives while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes and traditional dishes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
