With festival season officially under way, a care home in Weybridge is welcoming the community for a fun-filled day of food and celebration.

On Thursday 6th August from 2.30pm-4pm, Care UK’s Norfolk House will open its doors to families and neighbours for a food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection.

At the event, visitors to the homes can look forward to sampling a selection of residents' favourite cuisines and dishes from around the world, all prepared by the homes’ head chefs using local ingredients to create dishes such as traditional English crumble and delicious Hungarian Goulash.

Resident Jenny Baldwin, 80, said: “I am excited to try dishes from around the world and to taste something new!”

The event is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will see all Care UK homes host foodie-themed celebrations and share what life in a care home is really like.

Each festival will showcase sustainable, community-focused initiatives while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes and traditional dishes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
