The Friends of The Arno & Oxton Fields

A number of members and friends meet up most Monday mornings from 10am to 1pm, in The Arno Rose Garden to weed, plant or generally tidy the fabulous Long Herbaceous Border and a number of the other beds, this is an ongoing task.

Because there are so many projects they decided to set up The Friends of The Arno & Oxton Fields volunteer day, on the 1st Saturday of every month, so that they can also cover some of the other projects, such as tending to the new wildflower meadow they have planted on The Oxton Fields or the Bog planting area that has been planned.

They would welcome any help preparing the ground for the poppy and cornflower meadow.

They also have a number of historical projects like clearing and restoring old pathways or the old quarry steps, tree and bulb planting events, to improve the appearance of the parks for all who visit them.

Anyone who is interested or able to join the team will be most welcome even if it is just to join them for coffee and biscuits and discuss their ongoing plans.

Take a look at the Friends of The Arno & Oxton Fields website and see any forthcoming events.
