Talented Young Artists Showcase Their Work

Nine young and emerging artists have collaborated to produce an exciting show in response to the theme of New Fictions, at one of Liverpools up-and-coming galleries; Fallout Factory.

Most of the artists originate from Wirral and Liverpool. After branching off to study across the UK in Newcastle, Birmingham, and London, they have now returned home along with contemporaries from the South. Together they present fresh ideas that will challenge your perceptions of reality.

Showcasing a diverse range of media and approaches to the central theme; each artist has tailored an individual response including; a projection room for film, architectural installation, photography, collage, painting and sculpture.

This show questions how we so readily accept images and information presented to us through media, television, the internet, photographs and advertisements, with little thought as to the original nature and verifiability of this data.

Added emphasis is placed on the ways in which we install and view artwork, where much of the work breaks away from the traditional representation of the pictorial plane, meaning that these fictions are no longer seen solely through a screen and window, but become an all encompassing entity that invades the viewers space.

Creative practices allow for reality to be tailored, bent, shaped, and formed, to suit our specific needs and agendas, resulting in New Fictions
