  • Visit car boot and jumble sales, you never know what you may find! Very handy for stocking fillers and little presents. Check out these local ones in Winchester, Alton and Bishop’s Waltham.
  • Cut out old cards to make tags for this year’s gifts.
  • Buy cheap photo frames and get the kids to decorate them with glittery things. Pop in a recent snap and you’re good to go! Grandparents love it! There’s still time to book professional shots: check out Michael Butters Photography.
  • Try making crimbo cupcakes instead of a big effort some fruitcake. Usually means fewer leftovers.
  • Pick up pinecones wherever you go. They can be spray-painted with glitter or left plain. Hang with string, place amongst displays, or on the mantle. Always makes a nice touch to decorations.
  • Christmas can tend to be all about THINGS. Get someone an activity you know they’ll enjoy, or try something new! Find out more.
  • There’s one family member who won’t complain whatever they’re given... Check out these Christmas gifts for your fluffier family member.
  • Wrap up as you go! Saves you a last minute panic wrapping session.
  • Open kid’s toys and take out fiddley bits and add batteries too. Results in less whinging on the day!
  • Start as early or late as you like. There’s more choice if you start in November.
Here is a list of Christmas events in the Winchester area happening in December.
