The team were pleasant & conscientious throughout the build. The workmanship was very good: during the structural stages, the team found solutions where our architect had let us down; and the finishes were particularly well executed. Instead of rushing through the plans, the team often stopped to consult us on potential improvements which was very helpful. At their own initiative, Marlin communicated regularly with our neighbours when the build impacted them. Our mails to the office were generally promptly answered & the snag list was completed quickly. Marlin were helpful in promptly resolving a leak that developed months after completion - they also included some touch-up decorating at this stage, a small thing that was much appreciated. We would definitely recommend them in the future.

Marlin came highly recommended to us by family who had used them for a similar house project. Despite this we went to tender in order to get a good range of quotes. Marlin's costs came back very competitive and we were delighted to engage them for our project (rear extension, lots of glazing in roof and in sliding doors, full re-wire, re-heat, decoration, replacement of ceilings, replacement of bathrooms etc). We were thoroughly impressed by Marlin's attention to detail and workmanship throughout the project. We had weekly meetings on-site and lots of communication over email and telephone. Not only was the work carried out to 'perfectionist' standards, there were also some fantastic design suggestions which we actually implemented installing a wet-room instead of a regular downstairs bathroom and erecting a glass wall in our open-plan living area. We chose Marlin as they were based at the end of our road, they have done a lot of work locally and were a reasonable price. They undertook the following works; rear extension, loft conversion, complete re-wire, total re-plumb including 3 additional bathrooms and entire 4-bed house renovation/redecoration. We were very happy with the work and the all of the workmen were very professional and friendly. They always turned up on time, were very tidy, and the foreman communicated well with our neighbours over party wall works. None of the tasks are subcontracted and Marlin have a full range of tradesmen, which are coordinated by Dave and Tom who were conscientious and were accommodating to our requirements and they are even coming back next month to repair any minor new plaster cracks that appear. The other bonus with Marlin was that no job was too big or too small and the workmen are very resourceful with lots of initiative for solving any issues that arise along the way. Their building knowledge and construction experience was first class. They finished our house on time and it looks fantastic, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them!!

We instructed Marlin to completely renovate our house and convert our loft. We were very impressed with the quality of their work and they delivered this nine month project on time and to budget. The site was kept clean at all times and no job was too big or small. There was good levels of communications via email and face to face. They are incredibly knowledgeable, do not take short cuts and seem to know everyone in the building trade. We had an excellent experience with Marlin and as a direct result my brother is using them to build his extension. We would recommend them.

Marlin came to us highly recommended by friends. We engaged them to convert our garage into a habitable room and extend the box room into a fair sized bedroom on the 1st floor. We have been very impressed with their work. They started work when we agreed and then turned up everyday thereafter regardless of the weather.
They used materials of excellent quality that are sympathetic with the house. They sourced roof tiles to match the existing weathered tiles and the new brickwork and window follow the existing pattern perfectly.
Our neighbours have commented on how neatly they store materials on the site and how courteous they are.
