Jacquie worked with us over the last year on a number of decorating and refurbishment projects. She started by really listening to us and understanding our requirements in depth. Jacquie Cheetham of JC Design Concepts has recently advised me on a refurbishment of our kitchen/family room. I wanted to change the look and make the room more “grown up” and add colour. Jacquie was inspirational in her use of colour and light. She introduced me to colours and textures for rugs and soft furnishings that I would not have thought of and everything works beautifully. I found JC on the best of Wimbledon and Merton last year when I was about to move home. They have been wonderful in helping me select curtains and some furniture. We recently had a loft extension done and were looking to have some black out blinds for the new loft bedroom and guest room. We wanted made-to-measure Roman blinds of quality and durability, but those that did not cost the earth. Jacquie supplied us with just that. We came to her with the fabrics we wanted, she suggested how they should be put together and within 4-5 weeks they were delivered. They look fantastic, have been made to an excellent quality, and we have had a lot of compliments. We could not recommend Jacquie highly enough.

We are so pleased to have been able to involve Jacquie concerning a virtually complete make-over of our three storey town-house. The task involved the scrapping of all carpets and curtains and much of the upholstery and lighting whilst accommodating a modest collection of paintings, large collections of books and blown glass and numerous mementos from travels around the world. Jacquie’s advice was crucial in establishing the design criteria for every room and determining the guidelines for the selection of colour themes for decoration and patterns for upholstery materials, carpets and curtains. She also provided the motivation for de-cluttering whilst keeping essential art and craft items for display. Jacquie used her contacts with various trades to assist in the negotiation of contracts for work and supply of materials for re-decoration, electrical wiring, carpeting, re-upholstery and the making of curtains and cushions. Work started with the replacement of all windows and proceeded, floor by floor, in an orderly way so that within a period of eight weeks completion was achieved with only a modest over-spend. Jacquie was in regular contact to inspect progress and to iron out difficulties and she returned, after a suitable period of adjustment to our new surroundings to provide excellent advice on the re-hanging of paintings. At all times Jacquie has been full of imaginative suggestions which have also inspired our own ideas. In a friendly and positive way she has carefully guided us and given us the confidence to embark on the series of decisions which has resulted in a new home with which we are delighted. Recently, Jacqui at Design Concepts transformed my small sitting room with imaginative ideas which updated the fairly tired scheme in the room. I was having difficulty visualising what I could do to change it and make it more contemporary whist keeping with the decor in the rest of the house. She quickly tuned into what I wanted and had the vision to interpret this into marvellous ideas. She gave me a great range of fabric options and helped me to choose. There is quite an odd window in the room and she changed the curtains to a large blind in a beautiful fabric, which looks fantastic, more sophisticated and has not only totally improved the feel of the room but has made it seem more spacious. The blind was also beautifully made and installed. This recent project is not the first she has done for me; Jacqui also decorated two bedrooms making beautiful blinds, headboards and cushions. Her strong insight into what I wanted combined with her great taste, ideas and attention to detail meant that the result was fabulous and something I could never have done myself.

I have used Jacquie at JC Design Concepts on two occasions now and both times I have been extremely pleased with the outcome. The first time was for our open plan kitchen and living room area and Jacquie found a fabulous fabric and produced some beautiful curtains to link everything together; she also found a great fabric for our sofa which she had recovered beautifully. Further, she found a super large storage cupboard for my china and designed a bespoke TV/storage unit to match. More recently, I contacted Jacquie again, when we required further work on our house. This time we wanted to change our staircase to more of a contemporary design with glass panels, alter the surround of our fireplace and have our wooden floors re-polished. Jacquie prepared some drawings and found a beautiful selection of stone and granite for us to choose from. She introduced us to her joiner and then project managed the work whilst we were away. We are delighted with the finished result. I found Jacquie to be pleasant and easy to work with and would have no hesitation in recommending her.

I was recommended JC Design Concepts by a friend. We had just moved into a new house and I was keen to adapt the main reception room for our family needs. Jacquie designed a TV unit and shelving so everything can be neatly put away. She also added additional storage under the length of the window and gave us a beautiful window seat which the children - and cat - love! Sept 2010. I have known Jacquie for some years now as a good friend who will always go the extra mile for you. Recently when we had to try and find a suitable replacement for irretrievably water damaged curtains she was an absolute godsend, scurrying across London to check up on different manufacturers’ fabrics and getting us sent a grand selection of just the right samples in doublequick time when other “experts” we’d been to had failed to deliver. She seemed to know from a phone conversation exactly what was in our minds and went on to organise just what we needed. She is so knowledgeable, patient and professional with a marvellous sense of what fabrics and colours will go where, and we would absolutely recommend her.

I have been working with Jacquie for the last few months redesigning the two main reception rooms in my house. I have really enjoyed the whole process. Jacquie soon discovered my taste in colour and design and came up with ideas which were exactly the look I wanted. She found fabrics which I'm sure I would never have discovered even if I had the time to look and was able to pull a look together with her great eye for complimentary furnishings.
