Care UK’s Forrester Court will open its doors to families and neighbours for a food festival, inviting guests to tuck in and celebrate the nation’s shared love of great cuisine, community and connection.
From 12pm–4pm on Thursday 6th August, visitors can look forward to a unique tasting experience. Four food stalls will transport residents, visitors and team members on a flavour-filled trip around the world.
The event is part of the ‘A Taste of Home’ initiative, which will see Care UK homes across the country host foodie-themed celebrations and showcase what life in a care home is really like.
Each festival will showcase sustainable, community-focused initiatives while celebrating the diversity and creativity within the homes, from residents’ favourite recipes and traditional dishes to seasonal menus featuring locally sourced ingredients.
Ionela Savulescu, Home Manager at Forrester Court, said: “We’re delighted to be joining other Care UK care homes in the region to welcome local communities to enjoy our very own food festivals.
“Each home is part of a strong community here in London, and events like these are a wonderful way of bringing people together to celebrate our shared love of food, while giving residents the opportunity to share their favourite recipes and traditions with younger generations.
