A Mayfair park became the new home of a beautiful sculpture by internationally renowned artist Jedd Novatt yesterday, as part of the City of Sculpture Festival.

The four metre high bronze sculpture will now fully accessible for all art lovers to enjoy for free at Brown Harts Gardens. The sculpture is entitled "Chaos Mundaka" and is part of a series of works which Mr. Novatt creates at a foundry near Bilbao in Spain, where his studio is located.

The City of Sculpture Festival will see Westminster's outdoor spaces transformed by over 60 different pieces, allowing residents to see world class art for free.

Cllr Robert Davis, Westminster City Council’s Deputy Leader, said: “This London event will further enhance Westminster’s reputation as the home of some of the world’s most famous art, which can be viewed not only in our vast array of galleries but also on our streets. As the world prepares to focus its gaze on its sporting heroes I hope our City of Sculpture event will encourage art lovers from both home and abroad to enjoy the many cultural offerings available to them in the city. In the months ahead I hope that the sculptures which will appear across the city will surprise, amuse and excite everyone who sees them.”

Mr Novatt said: "The Installation of Chaos Mundaka in Brown Harts Gardens will be a dynamic juxtaposition of contemporary sculpture and classical architecture in an important central London context"
