Word of mouth and customer feedback lie at the heart of thebestof. The role of reviews in the decision making process has never been more influential and prevalent than it is now. The Business of the Year Awards are based purely on the number of positive, verified reviews that a business has received from its customers.
The campaign operates at a national and local level providing participants across the country with the opportunity to win the accolade of UK Business of the Year 2016, Business of the Year in Category 2016 or Business of the Year 2016 in their own town.
Huw Thomas, owner of thebestof Welwyn and Hatfield explains, “We are excited to be launching the Business of the Year 2016 Awards. This will be the first year that we have showcased the wonderful businesses that we have in the Welwyn Hatfield area through an Awards campaign.”
“Business members have to receive a minimum of 12 positive validated reviews during the year live on our website by the 31st December 2015 in order to qualify. We have 10 businesses who have secured their place in the competition.
“We feel it’s important that small businesses should be acknowledged for the contribution they make to the local economy and the role they play in the community. If you use a great local business please take a couple of minutes to leave a review by visiting www.thebestof.co.uk/welwynandhatfield.

All businesses who qualified have now been entered into the Awards, which run from 4th January to midnight on the 31st January 2016. As an added incentive, people who leave a review during the campaign will be entered into a prize draw to win £50 to spend with a local thebestof business member. The Award winners will announced on Monday 1st February 2016.
Currently (as of 11/1/2016) Welwyn Roofbox Hire, a local company based in Welwyn which hires out Thule roof boxes, roof bars and bike racks leads the field locally. Nolan Osteopathic Clinic, based at Gosling Sports Park, is leading the vote nationally for Osteopaths and Supertyres Motorists Centre in Broadwater Road, Welwyn Garden City, is neck and neck in the national vote for tyre dealers. There are strong showings for The Cutting Room in Digswell and Stonehills Hairdressing and Gymophobics in Welwyn Garden City.
