Blackberry picking outside in the autumn sunshine is a lovely way to while away a couple of hours and a great way to entertain the kids (it’s no. 21 on the National Trust’s list of 50 things to do before you are 11 ¾!) And then you get to eat the fruits of your labour!
So we asked locals residents for their favourite places to pick blackberries – and this is what they said (please let us know any more and we will add them to the list):
Lane next to the golf range at Gosling Sports Park
Lane near Crooked Chimney pub, Marford Road
Ayot Greenway and footpaths off it
King George V playing field
Between Dalewood and Moneyhole
Commons Nature Reserve
Hatfield Forest
Lanes near Tewin
Lemsford end of Valley Road
Field between Sheepcote and Archers Ride
End of lane near Mill Green Golf Club
Happy picking!
