I went to a new networking group which meets at The Boot in Kimpton on Thursday evenings . This week Andrew Beale of Beales Hotels gave a short talk about his family's history from 1769.
It was incredibly interesting heart felt history of their family from humble beginnings as bakers, up until the present day very chic and the contemporary Beales Hotel we now have in Hatfield.
Andrew Beale is very proudly the 8th generation of his family running the hotels and states on his business cards, just underneath Beales Hotels, "Generations of Excellence since 1769"
I was extremely impressed with his modesty and sensitivity especially when speaking about some of his ancestors who were not so entrepreneurial.
Found it very significant when compared with todays recessionary times and all the talk now of us not being less greedy, and needing to build a more caring and sharing society.
