North West training provider Scientiam is creating ten jobs with the opening of a new office in Warrington.

Scientiam is investing £80,000 in the new training centre at Bank Quay House in Sankey Street, which will help hundreds of unemployed people in the area into jobs and further education.

The centre will deliver a wide range of training and employment initiatives including the Work Programme, Foundation Learning and Apprenticeships. This will cover people of all ages and will benefit more than 500 individuals.

The opening of Scientiam’s new office comes hot on the heels of a joint report by the Work Foundation – a job market thinktank – and the Private Equity Foundation charity, stating that one in four 16-24 year olds in Warrington are now not in employment, education or training (NEET).

Scientiam managing director Jayne Worthington said: “We are delighted to be creating ten new jobs in the Warrington office and are planning to recruit more people as our provision grows in the Warrington and Cheshire region.

“Scientiam is investing heavily in Warrington to provide local people with the access to the employment and training opportunities that they deserve. There are a large number of people NEET in the area but working alongside the local authority, JobCentre Plus and Warrington businesses we are determined to drastically reduce these figures.

“Our new office at the heart of the town centre will enable us to deliver a cluster of first class programmes with expert advice and support from dedicated Scientiam staff, for both learners and employer partners.”

Scientiam launched its first Warrington office at Dallam Court in 2010, and has since established an excellent track record, with more than 80 per cent of its learners making a positive move into employment or further education.

Local dignitaries will be joined by community leaders and businesses at an official opening at Bank Quay on Friday 25 November from 2pm.

Former Scientiam learners from across the Warrington area will also be present to celebrate the opening and talk about their experiences and progression.

As well as Warrington, Scientiam also has offices in Birkenhead, Liverpool, and Runcorn.
