SNAFU were formed from the ashes of Juicy Lucy and Freedom in 1972 by Bobby Harrison and Micky Moody, also former members of Procol Harum and Whitesnake .

The rest of the band were drafted in from the Van Morrison band and Ginger Baker's Airforce.

Musically, they resembled Little Feat and the Allman Brothers. After being signed by Richard Branson to Virgin Records, their debut album "Snafu" was the birth of one of the finest funk/RandB British acts of the 70's. The band toured the world with The Doobie Brothers, The Eagles, Emerson, Lake and Palmer and WAR.

Their second album "Situation Normal" took a Country Rock direction whereas their third album "All Funked Up" is now regarded as a Funky Rock classic and was played by DJ's in the Acid Jazz scene of the 1990's.
