Walsall Works is a multi-million financial investment by Walsall Council. It symbolises our vision of creating the conditions for sustainable employment growth within our Walsall based businesses.

The programme is aimed at helping eligible employers to offer employment through an apprenticeship programme, by providing them a financial incentive payment towards wages to assist employers in recruiting apprentices.

Over a two year period, Walsall Works will offer 550 young people aged 16-24 year olds apprenticeship opportunities within small to medium sized businesses (less than 250 employees) in a number of growth sectors.

Employers recruiting young people will be offered a £3,000 incentive payment. The payment is in addition to the training costs of the apprenticeship framework which are met in full for young people aged 16 to 18 and 50% for those aged 19 to 24.
