The initiative, created to promote positivity in Willenhall and encourage informal networking, continues to grow in popularity. Netwalking offers a unique opportunity for professionals to connect with others in a relaxed, outdoor setting, blending physical activity, personal development and community engagement.
The event, hosted by Jeni Sellick of West Midlands House, began with a motivational talk on their own experience of returning to college and embracing lifelong learning.
“As someone who recently went back to college, I wanted to share how inspiring it has been to step back into learning. Netwalking is all about encouraging growth, both professionally and personally in a supportive environment,” said Jeni.
The theme of lifelong learning was echoed by special guest speaker Danny Pardoe of Birmingham City University, who led an engaging session inspired by American football. Attendees had the chance to learn how to throw a football, complete with team jerseys and plenty of laughs.
The session brought a fresh perspective on learning new skills and taking on new challenges at any stage in life. Following the interactive session, attendees enjoyed a walk through the lush landscape of Willenhall Memorial Park, offering time for reflection, deeper conversation and community bonding.
The event is part of an ongoing effort to raise the profile of Willenhall Businesses while making networking more inclusive and approachable for newcomers and seasoned professionals alike.
“We wanted to create something that felt welcoming, especially for people who find traditional networking daunting,” added Jeni.
“It’s about building real connections- without pressure.”
The next Netwalking event takes place on 8th August 2025, starting at 9:30am. Booking is via Eventbrite and is free - https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/netwalking-willenhall-tickets-1109130131079?aff=oddtdtcreator
