At Goodchilds, we believe in helping as much as we can. This is instilled in our staff from the very day they start.
We’re here to ensure our customers have as good a Goodchilds’ experience as possible, from the first hello to the final pieces of paperwork. Every meeting, every email, every phone call is treated with the same high standard of service. In order to ensure these high levels are maintained everything we do is measured using a questionnaire we ask all our customers to complete. All our staff are required to achieve a score of at least 98%. There is no bonus without it. Although this leaves no room for error, our staff rise to the challenge and receive their bonuses.
Talking of bonuses, they are only paid on completion, rather than instruction, ensuring our hard work and effort continues throughout the whole process.
It’s one of the reasons we’ve won so many awards (10 in the last four years) and have become the first agency in the Midlands to hold both the Sunday Times Best Estate Agent and Sunday Times Best Lettings Agent awards at the same time. It’s an achievement we’re very proud of.
Our desire to help, though, extends beyond our customers. We believe we should, as a successful local family business, give something back to the community. Corporate Social Responsibility is a commonly used phrase but, unlike some, we feel it’s a genuinely important part of modern business.
Every year, many people find themselves facing extreme difficulties and challenges through no fault of their own. The cards they are dealt include all manner of hardship and suffering. It’s only right the more successful members of society, who have been blessed with good luck and achievement, help those who devote themselves to helping those less fortunate. Especially as the invaluable work of charities across the country relies on donations to continue.
At Goodchilds, we have extended our helping hand both locally and nationally. As a long-term supporter of Lichfield Hospice and Leukaemia Research, our ongoing support helps provide the care and compassion the terminally ill patients of the Hospice deserve in their final weeks and months. It also plays a part in the ongoing battle against leukaemia which afflicts so many every year, both old and young.
Leukaemia Research was the beneficiary of Goodchilds’ sponsorship of Sean King and Olly Chanot when they ran in this year’s Wolverhampton Marathon. We even paid their entry fees which they promptly added to the £500 they had raised. Although the race was long and difficult, especially for Olly as it was his first marathon (three months ago he could barely run 100m!), both are running the Coventry half marathon later this year and the Gloucester full marathon at the beginning of next. Sean and Olly may not work for Goodchilds, but they are certainly Goodchilds’ type of people.
For some, 26.4 miles is not quite enough and Dave Cross, one of our contractors, has taken part in the 75 mile London to Brighton off-road bike ride. He and his team of nine trained hard on Cannock Chase and canal towpaths in the Black Country for 12 weeks. As with the marathon, Goodchilds sponsored Dave, who raised money for both Leukaemia Research and the British Heart Foundation.
Like Dave, Sean and Olly, our Corporate Social Responsibility goes a long way. It extends directly into our business – the business of selling houses.
For every house we sell, we donate £50 to either Leukaemia Research or, if the seller prefers, to a charity of their own choice. We understand many people have charities which are particularly close to their hearts, often for very powerful personal reasons, and we are happy to accommodate these feelings. It’s all part of working for our customers across every single aspect of what we do
