It was opened by Wayne Attwood PRBSA.  Wayne is a Birmingham born artist whose work is represented in private, corporate and public collections across Europe.

Wayne undertook a two year Artist in residency for the New Street Station and Grand Central redevelopment in Birmingham 2013 - 2015.  Wayne is interested in how old family snaps acts as a visual facilitator to elicit emotional memory.

He recently demonstrated this technique to members of the Walsall Society of Artists to show how his oil paintings are searched out by the progressive application of numerous interacting layers and marks, constantly moving the active paint layer around, avoiding a literal or realist approach, leaving space for vague or unresolved interpretation.

The opening night was well attended with friends and sponsors of the Walsall Society of Artists.  Prizes were presented in the categories of Best Figurative Art, Best Animal Art, Best Botanical Art, Best Landscape Art, Best Abstract Art and Best 3D Art
