As of July 2022, home valuation requests to estate agents are 24% higher than the same time last year. Post-covid, people are settling into their ‘new normal’ and a recent survey from the Office of National Statistics tells us that the proportion of hybrid workers has risen from 13% in early February 2022 to 24% in May 2022.

This new way of working means higher demand for properties in areas such as Walsall, which are more affordable but still commutable to large cities where people travel to for office working a few times a week, such as Birmingham.

Why should I get a valuation?

You can find out on Zoopla or Rightmove how much your neighbouring properties sold for. However, this information might not be recent. Getting a formal valuation is a good idea for a number of reasons; it can help you to understand the fair market value of the property, or if you are thinking of renting, will help you determine the fair and competitive rent for your property.

If you’re not sure whether you want to move from your current property, if you find a good estate agent, they will also be able to tell you what kind of additions or renovations will add value to your property for a future sale.

How can I get a valuation?

Get in touch with one of Walsall’s recommended estate agents for advice and next steps on getting your property valued by an experienced professional. Once you have a valuation, if you decide to then sell or rent your property out, the estate agents can walk you through that process and provide their services along the way.
