Ian is a born and bred Walsall lad where he is best known as a poet, artist, photographer, musician and singer songwriter. When it comes to music, Ian is a self-confessed ‘Proghead’ from when he first listened to the Nursery Cryme album by Genesis aged 11 years old. This prompted Ian to learn guitar, with the hopes of becoming Steve Hackett or Nick Drake. Since then Ian has become a regular performer at local acoustic nights and poetry events, culminating in taking part in co-hosting The Freeverse Festival in 2019 which gave local poets an open stage to perform their work and take part in a workshop to develop their craft. Ian is also a self-published poet; to date Ian has produced four collections of poetry, which he is currently re-editing.

Before pandemic restrictions were put in place Ian also performed at charity events around the Walsall and Dudley regions as a musician and poet, he also works for a Walsall based charity supporting Walsall residents who are grieving the loss of a loved one. Ian has worked as an independent counsellor and supervisor for the last 10 years.

Ian’s latest ventures have found him performing on Black Country Radio and being interviewed on Hope Radio twice. It was during his last interview in 2020 on Hope Radio that Ian was invited to present his own show exploring Progressive music and concepts. Due to this Ian will be hosting his new show ‘The Proposition’ for the first time on January 31st 2021 on Hope Radio.
